For the extension of Warsaw Metro Line II, SOCOTEC Monitoring Poland developed and managed an advanced geotechnical, structural and topographic monitoring system, ensuring the safety of infrastructures and existing buildings along the route.
In a highly urbanized context, close to sensitive and historic buildings, the monitoring activities reduced the risks related to underground excavation and construction works, protecting the built environment and guaranteeing project continuity.
Services delivered
Tailored design of the monitoring system: selection and positioning of instruments according to soil and structural conditions.
Installation and calibration of geotechnical and structural sensors: inclinometers, piezometers, extensometers and displacement sensors.
High-precision topographic surveys: use of robotic total stations and laser scanners for surface deformation measurements.
Operational management of monitoring activities: coordination of fieldwork, data collection and real-time processing.
Engineering support for risk prevention: data interpretation and immediate corrective measures when anomalies were detected.
